Illuminate Adelaide honours the Companion Card scheme and card holders are entitled to a second ticket to all Illuminate Adelaide events for their companion at no cost. Please email us at hello@illuminateadelaide.com or call 1300 496 623 with your order number, and companion card number and we will add a ticket to your booking.
Companion Card tickets are not required for free events.
Companion Card tickets are not available for Night Visions Dining Experience @ Botanic Lodge, Illuminate After Dark at Adelaide Central Market, Ocean To Plate, and Symphony of the Senses.
Adelaide Zoo (Universal Kingdom: Ice Age)

Adelaide Zoo recognises the national Government issued Companion Card and Carer Australia Card. Free entry is offered for one carer accompanying the cardholder when using one of the approved cards. See more information on their website.

AGSA (Monet to Matisse)
AGSA supports the Companion Card program and agrees to provide an admission ticket for the cardholder’s companion at no charge when the cardholder’s valid ticket is purchased from, or shown at, the Atrium Ticket Desk (11 July – 8 November 2026).

Accessible Tours
In partnership with Access2Arts, the following accessible tours are available.
City Lights Audio-Described Tour: A free, guided tour for those with low vision or who are blind. Registration essential. Learn more and register HERE.
Night Visions Audio-Described Tour: A ticketed, guided tour for those with low vision or who are blind. Learn more and book your ticket HERE.
City Lights Deaf-led Auslan Tour: A free, Auslan interpreted tour for people who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing. Please note there will be no English translation. Registrations essential. Learn more and register HERE.
City Lights Seniors Tours: $12 guided tours are available if you are older and would like a facilitated experience. These accessible tours run once per week throughout City Lights. Learn more and book your ticket HERE.
Seniors Sessions
Augmented Games Seniors Sessions: These sessions are dedicated for older people, running with reduced capacity. Learn more and book Seniors Session at Augmented Games HERE.
Relaxed Sessions
Relaxed Sessions are specifically designed to make the experience more accessible for neurodiverse audiences, the Autistic community, and individuals with sensory needs.
Augmented Games at Adelaide Showgrounds: Relaxed Sessions of Augmented Games will include reduced capacity, lowered volume and sound levels, and clear signage. Learn more and book a Relaxed Session at Augmented Games HERE.
Digital Abyss at ILA: Relaxed Sessions of Digital Abyss will include reduced capacity, lowered volume and sound levels, and clear signage. Learn more and book a Relaxed Session at Digital Abyss HERE.
Night Visions at Adelaide Botanic Garden: Relaxed Sessions of Night Visions will include reduced capacity, lowered volume, and reduced haze. Please note, some installations will include reduced capacity, lowered volume, and reduced haze. Please note, some installations will include strobing effects. Universal Kingdom: Ice Age at Adelaide Zoo: Relaxed Sessions of Universal Kingdom: Ice Age will include an earlier twilight start time, reduced capacity, lowered volume on installations and reduced human noises. Learn more and book a Relaxed Session at Universal Kingdom HERE.
Sensory Bus
South Australia's first Sensory Bus will be coming to Illuminate Adelaide. Details to come.
Quiet Space
A dedicated Quiet Space will be available at Illuminate Adelaide. Details to come.
Illuminate Adelaide events are all-weather events and will go ahead, rain or shine. We recommend wearing adequate clothing and footwear suited to the time of year and weather conditions on the day.
Other suggested items you can bring that may make your experience more comfortable include:
Ear plugs and/or noise cancelling headphones
Comfort items like fidget tools
Any necessary medication
Refillable drink bottle
Companion card, if applicable
Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyard, if applicable
A limited number of complimentary Sensory Backpacks will be available at select Illuminate Adelaide sites for collection upon request.
Illuminate Adelaide staff complete Access2Arts Disability Access and Inclusion training. This facilitates a more inclusive experience for our audience. If you have any questions or require assistance during your visit to an Illuminate Adelaide event, don't hesitate to approach our friendly staff.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a recognised symbol for non-visual or hidden disabilities. Illuminate Adelaide staff complete hidden disabilities awareness training, to better assist anyone who wears the Sunflower or who may need some additional support during their experience.

The National Relay Service is a government initiative that allows people who are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, and/or have communication or speech difficulty to make and receive phone calls.

Illuminate Adelaide’s website makes available the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget that is powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows us to improve our compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
Illuminate Adelaide continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of our site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use for those of us who live with disabilities.
