Gather around the firelight this winter and journey through a wonderland of captivating flaming sculpture as Adelaide Botanic Garden takes on new surprises when painted with the palette of fire.

French masters of flame Compagnie Carabosse invite you to experience an extraordinary winter discovery for all ages, as the luminary alchemists create an exquisite and enchanting wonderland full of illuminating surprises.

For three weeks only, thousands of handcrafted giant firepots, captivating kinetic sculptures, live music and candlelit arched pathways will bring warmth and a mesmerizing firelight transformation to the Adelaide Botanic Garden in this specially commissioned work.

Filled with flaming delights and elemental forces, this premiere twilight event promises a feast for the senses. Relish the chance to blaze your own trail, and marvel at the transformation of the natural environment.

Fire Gardens is a promenade event requiring patrons to move around and through the displays. Adelaide Botanic Garden is easy to navigate via wheelchair, with paved and bitumen paths accessible throughout most of the site. The event area will include paving, grass, compact dirt, and sloped and uneven surfaces. While some areas of the site are not wheelchair accessible, the installations can be easily viewed from the paved paths and Front of House staff will be stationed along these routes to assist patrons requiring directions or assistance.

Accessible toilets are available within the event area.

Fire Gardens is a high visual content event featuring some live performances and ambient music, with no dialogue.

Assistance dogs are welcome in Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Admission

Please only arrive at the Main Gate off North Terrace at your allocated session time for admission. Early or late admissions will not be possible.

It is a condition of entry that children 12 years and under can only be admitted if accompanied and supervised by their parents/guardians at all times, which will necessarily be enforced by the Front of House team throughout the event site.

Duration

This is a self-guided event through a curated immersive space - please allow 60 minutes to enjoy the full Fire Gardens experience at your leisure.

The Fire Gardens flames will be extinguished at approximately 9:15pm so be sure to arrive promptly for later sessions.

Warnings

Please be advised this event includes fire, smoke, dark pathways, and uneven terrain.

This event will go ahead rain or shine. We recommend wearing adequate clothing and footwear suited to the time of year and weather conditions on the night. There is no cloakroom for this event.
